We are presently seeking Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Medical Imaging Department at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH).
Located in Cranbrook, BC, EKH offers services including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, Level 3 laboratory, acute and obstetrical care.
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with departmental policies. Duties include preparing patients for examination, operating nuclear medicine equipment, monitoring patient during procedures, preparing, dispensing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, performing routine quality control tests on imaging equipment, monitoring area utilizing appropriate detection devices and disposing of radioactive substances and contaminated items by following established guidelines.
This is a casual opportunity and shifts are scheduled as days (Monday to Friday) - 07:00 to 15:00, 08:00 to 16:00, 11:00 to 19:00. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary between 0 and 37.5 hours per week. Casual shifts are primarily for relief coverage. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full time positions. • Successful completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
• Current certification with CAMRT and eligible for membership with CAMRT and/or the BC Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (BCAMRT).
