A casual opportunity exists for a Mental Health Therapist to join the Developmental Disability Mental Health Services Team in Cranbrook.
The Mental Health Therapist, functions as a member of an interdisciplinary mental health team, providing direct care to chronically and acutely mental ill/developmentally disabled clients in the community’ provides expertise related to applied behavioural analysis in the area of assessment, intervention and non-aversive behavioural management in conjunction with other team members and existing community care networks; provides training in behavioural intervention to professional caregivers/families.
The Developmental Disability Mental Health Services (DDMHS) is an Interior Health tertiary mental health program that provides specialized mental health consultation and services to individuals 14 years and older who have both an intellectual developmental disorder and mental health disorder.
If you have experience in working with clients and families to help with a variety of mental health issues, working in complex situations, dealing with challenging client population and experience with community education regarding client population this opportunity is for you.

Bachelor degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position
Three years’ recent related experience including: working with people with mental disabilities; behavioural treatment programs; working directly with families of people with mental illness; and working on an interdisciplinary team; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current valid B.C. driver’s license.
