Casual Medical Lab Technologist opportunity now available at the Chase and District Health Centre!
As the Laboratory Technologist you will work independently within our very small team, providing vital Lab services to clients from the Ashcroft community and surrounding areas. This is a generalist Lab position and offers interesting and varied work within all areas of a small Core Lab.
Typical duties include: routine and/or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, greeting patients, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), validating/reporting test results, maintaining instruments and preparing solutions and control agents.
Chase Health Care Centre does not have acute care beds, but provides: basic laboratory and radiology; urgent care; outpatient ambulatory care; community services; long term residential care services; and on-site doctors’ offices.
Days of work are scheduled Monday to Friday and shifts times are from 07:30 to 15:30, 07:3 to 13:30 and 09:30 to 15:30 hours.

Education, Training and Experience:
• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience
