Position Summary

Medical Lab Technologist opportunity now available at the 100 Mile District General Hospital!

As the Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) you will work independently within our supportive and small team environment, providing vital Lab services to both inpatients and outpatients from the community and surrounding areas. This is a generalist Lab position and offers interesting and varied work within the Core Lab.

Typical duties may include: routine and/or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, greeting patients, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), validating/reporting test results, maintaining instruments and preparing solutions and control agents.

Days of work are rotating and shift times are: 06:30-16:10, 08:00-14:30 and 14:30-00:10
This is a permanent part-time 0.40fte opportunity offering support with relocation as well as a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, generous employer paid vacation and pension plan.

Community: 100 Mile House is a historic town with a vibrant and close knit community in the heart of the Cariboo. It is located approximately 5 hours north of Vancouver and only 2 hours from Kamloops by car. The local area boasts over 200km of cross country ski trails, Mount Timothy downhill ski area, hockey arena, championship golf, numerous hiking/biking trails and hundreds of lakes – something for every adventurer!


• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience
