Position Summary |
Interior Health’s 100 Mile House Hospital (OMH) invites applications for the role of Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (MDRT). OMH is looking to hire a MDRT who are knowledgeable in principles of infection control, decontamination, sterilization, and aseptic techniques and with experience in cleaning, sorting, assembling and picking complex types of instrument sets, picking surgical cases and many other duties associated with clerical and record keeping. The 100 Mile District General Hospital is an acute care hospital in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area. Housed within the South Cariboo Health Centre, the hospital offers services including surgical, inpatient and emergency. As a member of the OMH Medical Device Reprocessing Team, you will receive, sort, disassemble, clean, decontaminate, sterilize, assemble, wrap and reassemble all trays, instruments, carts, supplies and equipment related to the Operating Room (OR) and/or other areas of the hospital. Reporting to Manger, Clinical Operations Operating Room, you will draw upon your ability to perform inventory counts, requisition supplies and equipment, report and record shortages, problems and complaints related to instruments, supplies and equipment, etc., and maintain records on instruments, supplies and equipment processed and requisitioned in accordance with established procedures. This is a relief, part-time opportunity that will provide coverage until April 2022, or the return of incumbent. Shifts are scheduled Wednesdays and Thursdays (07:00 to 15:00). Qualifications |
Education, Training and Experience: • Grade 12 • Successful completion of a recognized Sterile Supply Processing course, • One year’s recent, related experience. Skills and Abilities: • Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology. • Mathematical aptitude. • Ability to communicate and deal effectively with others. • Ability to operate related equipment. • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. • Ability to organize work.
