Position Summary

Are you a Dietitian looking for an opportunity to utilize all of your clinical knowledge? Does working and living in a BC rural town sound appealing?

Interior Health is presently accepting applications from Dietitians with interest and experience in a hospital/healthcare environment with Diabetes Education knowledge and group facilitation skills. This position is based in 100 Mile House and District Hospital (OMH). OMH is a 16-bed rural community hospital offering emergency, low-risk obstetrics, general medical, and outpatient ambulatory care services. Long Term Care facilities operated by Interior Health adjacent to OMH include Fischer Place and Mill Site Lodge.

In this position, the Dietitian supports the Acute Care patients at OMH, the residents living in Long Term Care, and the Diabetes Nurse Educator in our Community Program for clients who are presenting with high-risk Diabetes diagnosis. It’s a busy, diverse role that will keep the Dietitian on their toes while making an impact to the town of 100 Mile House and surrounding communities. This is a full time opportunity with potential to become a permanent in the future. Days of work are Monday to Friday with weekends and statutory holidays off. There is a great amount additional Dietetic resources and educational opportunities available to support the Dietitian, whose practice will be Sole Charge in OMH.

This position offers an attractive compensation and benefits package in addition to Pension Plan.

• Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics.
• Successful completion of an accredited hospital based dietetic internship program.
• Registrant of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.
• One year of clinical nutrition experience in a health care environment preferred.
• Valid BC Driver’s License.

** Restricted Acts A (Enteral Nutrition), B (Parenteral Nutrition) and C (Instillation through Enternal) are an asset.
