Position Summary
Located in the Southern Interior of British Columbia, Interior Health operates and maintains 46 acute and community health care sites. We are dedicated to providing the best possible health care to our citizens with clinicians, physicians, and staff committed to teamwork and high quality, patient-centred care.
We are inviting Full BCCNM Practicing Nurse Practitioners to apply and be part of a Casual Pool of Nurse Practitioners whose purpose is to provide short-term, temporary coverage when needed to support an Interior Health’s regularly employed Nurse Practitioner during vacation or leave of absences.
As a Casual NP your position will be centrally based in the Professional Practice Office and reports to the Director, Advanced Nursing Practice. The Casual NP will be deployed to practices that match competencies and experience with a focus on rural and isolated/smaller sites/facilities where clients have limited service when the incumbent NP is away from their practice.
Services provided by the Casual NP will be specific to the focused population of each NP practice. Each NP practice throughout Interior Health is unique. Many of the Regular NP positions with Interior Health focus on vulnerable populations with the greatest needs, those with mental health and addiction issues, frail elderly, and people with chronic disease. The proposed position will provide needed casual coverage that will contribute to continuity of care and improved health outcomes for the identified vulnerable populations.
This opportunity offers practice in a variety of settings and will appeal to a NP who is seeking new practice challenges. The practice locations will be as varied as the NP Primary Health Care NP Clinics across Interior Health.
