Clinical Dietitian | Outpatient

Position Summary

We are seeking a Permanent Part Time Clinical Dietitian | Outpatient at Kamloops Public Health in Kamloops, BC.

Days of work: Tuesday to Thursday, every other Friday, Days

Shift times: 08:00 to 16:00, 07:30 to 16:30, 07:00 to 17:00, 08:00 to 14:00

This is an Outpatient Dietitian position working in multiple areas: 1. RIH Diabetes Education Clinic as a Diabetes Educator and Outpatient Dietitian on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. 2. Vascular Improvement Program in the CSB at RIH on Thursdays. 3. Outpatient Nutrition Counselling - Travelling to Clearwater, Barrier, and Chase alternating days once per month.

What will you work on?

The Dietitian is a member of a multidisciplinary health care team and provides nutrition care and support to individuals, patients, residents and groups according to established policies, standards and procedures.

Utilizing clinical techniques and knowledge, the Dietitian provides nutrition services through: nutrition assessment; care planning and charting; intervention, goal setting and monitoring; counseling and education programs; consults and communicates with the multidisciplinary care teams; acts as a resource to other health professionals and communities within Interior Health.

The Dietitian provides input to the Professional Practice Leader by participating in the development of nutrition practice guidelines and procedures; research and continuous quality improvement initiatives for the facility and program.

The Dietitian liaises and advises food service staff on patient/resident care issues and menu development.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics.
• Successful completion of an accredited hospital based dietetic internship program (or equivalent acceptable to the facility).
• Full licensee as a Registered Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
• One year of clinical nutrition experience in a health care environment preferred.
• Valid BC Driver’s License may be required.
