Are you a customer-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment? Penticton Regional Hospital is seeking a Relief Full-Time Switchboard Operator | Registration Clerk to join our dedicated team in the heart of British Columbia's beautiful South Okanagan.
In this dynamic role, you will be the welcoming first point of contact for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff. Your exceptional communication and organizational skills will help ensure seamless hospital operations while supporting patient care through switchboard and registration services.
This position works rotating days, evenings 07:00 to 15:00, 09:00 to 17:00, 15:00 to 23:00

What Will You Work On?
In this role you will work perform a variety of switchboard, registration and cashier duties such as:
• Operates switchboard and public address system and other paging device systems;
• Receives and directs patients and visitors;
• Responds to and monitors hospital alarms and emergency codes;
• Maintains physician on-call/vacation lists and other hospital staff;
• Patient registration;
• Admitting clerical duties with bed booking options;
• Cashier duties - receiving payments; recording payments in cash journals and/or summary sheets; and issuing change and receipts;
• Receives, checks and deposits patient valuables for safekeeping.

Qualifications
Education, Training & Experience:
• Grade 12,
• Two year’s recent related experience, Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Completion of a Typing Test 45 wpm or greater, dated within the past 48 months and must be issued from a valid institution only. (non-supervised tests are not accepted)
