Position Summary
We are currently looking for a relief full-time Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Clinician to join the Mental Health and Substance Use team based out of the Revelstoke Health Centre in beautiful Reevelstoke, B.C. This relief position is until the return of the incumbent.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate MHSU Clinician who brings strong clinical judgment and advanced assessment and treatment skills to support individuals experiencing complex substance use and/or concurrent mental health concerns. The successful candidate will be confident working with clients with significant and complex needs, including those experiencing trauma, functional impairment, and co-occurring mental health or medical concerns. Strong skills in therapeutic relationship-building, motivational interviewing, evidence-based treatment approaches, risk assessment, care planning, and service coordination are essential. The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, engage families and community partners, respond effectively to changing and urgent client needs, and advocate for appropriate resources and transitions across the continuum of care will be key to success in this position.

What will you work on?
The Substance Use Clinician functions as a member of the larger Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) health care team and as a member of a specific MHSU multi-disciplinary team whose purpose is to ensure that persons experiencing substance use problems/disorders or concurrent substance use and mental health problems have access to timely, responsive, evidence based treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of available services.
The Substance Use Clinician provides, at the advanced practice level, assessment, treatment, service coordination and, as required, urgent response to the most complex clients, frequently with co-occurring disorders, who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life. The Substance Use Clinician functions as a primary clinician utilizing a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients and/or their families.
Scheduling Information:
Shirt times are days and shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
• Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position.
• Two years’ recent related experience in an alcohol and drug treatment environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current valid B.C. driver’s license (Class 5).
