About the Job
In accordance with established vision and values of the organization the Operations Supervisor works in a team based environment and is charged with the supervision of laboratory staff and coordination of daily inpatient/outpatient activities for the designated laboratory site. Works cooperatively with other departments/leadership of the hospital in coordination with the Regional PPL. Ensures IH policies and procedures are implemented and followed. Provides technical guidance to laboratory staff in conjunction with the Technical Specialists. Mentors, coaches and facilitates workplace solutions, and promotes continuous learning amongst staff. Coordinates the implementation of processes and procedures, standards, goals and objectives in conjunction with designated Professional Practice Leader and Technical Specialist to ensure consistency within IHA. Ensures that accreditation and safety standards are maintained.

This is a Relief Full Time (1.0) opportunity until return of incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days, evenings and nights.

Qualifications

Successful completion of recognized competency assessment exam and registration in the relevant field(s) of practice in accordance with the Canadian Alliance of Medical Laboratory Professionals Regulators (CAMLPR) pathways, or certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
Minimum of three years’ recent experience as a general duty technologist in a medical laboratory.
Minimum of one year recent leadership experience.
Equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the facility.
