The salary range for this position is $118,923 (min) to $148,653 (midpoint) to $170,951 (max) per annum, based on 1.0 FTE. Interior Health typically establishes salaries within the minimum and midpoint of the salary range based on qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How will you make an impact?

The Director, Revenue and Payroll Services provides strategic direction and leadership for Payroll Services, Billing Services, and Accounts Receivable Services at IH. The Director, Revenue and Payroll Services will participate in organization-wide and province-wide teams and working groups to develop and implement best practices that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of these services to maximize revenues, minimize bad debts, and ensure timely and accurate payroll for IH’s employees and physicians.

What will you work on?

• Leads a large and diverse team of professionals at multiple locations who perform billing, accounts receivable, and payroll services.

• Provides strategic recommendations to IH Leadership and provincial counterparts to maximize revenue collection and implement best practices in a politically sensitive environment.

• Oversees timely and accurate payroll for staff and physicians, including remittances of statutory deductions and benefit reconciliations and payments.

• Identifies innovation and automation opportunities, prioritizes projects, prepares business cases and follows through to implement approved projects that will increase effectiveness and efficiencies within the portfolio.
• Responsible for the internal control framework related to payroll and receivables processes including the development of controls and monitoring and evaluating their effectiveness along with mitigating control risks.

• Provides advice and recommendations to IH Leadership and business partners to prevent and detect errors in timekeeping and pay.

• Makes strategic resource allocation decisions and develops new processes and procedures to promote accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness.
• Hires, evaluates, and disciplines staff.

• In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, maintain a healthy and safe work environment through complying with and implementing applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, responding to requests from WSBC, identifying hazards and communicating risks, ensuring compliance with employee training, conducting effective incident investigations and implementing required corrective actions.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience
• A Bachelor’s degree in a business field accompanied by advanced education or experience in accounting, payroll, or collections.
• A minimum of ten years of progressive management experience working in a large, complex environment, with a proven track record of strategic decision-making as well as experience in implementing change with new procedures and practices.
• Experience in both public and private sector organizations with multi-site operations is preferred.
