Lansdowne Centre in Kamloops, B.C. has a permanent full time Life Skills Outreach Worker position to join our Mental Health (MH) Youth Intensive Case Management (YICM) team.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a compassionate, resilient, and client-centered candidate who is passionate about supporting youth and young adults experiencing serious mental health and/or substance use challenges. The ideal candidate has experience working with individuals with complex needs in community-based or outreach settings and is comfortable building therapeutic relationships with clients who may be experiencing crisis, housing instability, or barriers to accessing services. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong skills in psychosocial rehabilitation, harm reduction, crisis intervention, risk assessment, and recovery-oriented practice while maintaining professional boundaries and a trauma-informed, culturally safe approach.
We are looking for someone that is a collaborative team member who works effectively within a multidisciplinary environment, communicates clearly, and is able to coordinate care with community partners, families, and other service providers. The successful candidate is adaptable, organized, and confident working independently in the community, providing practical life-skills support, advocacy, and case management while accurately documenting client care and responding to changing client needs. Experience working with youth, knowledge of community resources, and a commitment to fostering hope, independence, and meaningful recovery are key qualities for success in this role.

What will you work on?
This position is working on the Youth Intensive Case Management (YICM) team supporting youth up to age 24 with moderate to severe substance use and mental health.
This position is a member of a multi-disciplinary Mental Health and Addictions Team providing a comprehensive array of services within a psycho social rehabilitation framework to adults with serious and persistent mental illness and/or within a harm reduction framework for those with substance use problems/disorders and who experience severe challenges in daily living as a result. This position will provide these services offering a variety of rehabilitative and treatment modalities inclusive of outreach, community and facility care.
Scheduling information:
Shift types are days and shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours. Days of work are Monday to Friday.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
• Mental Health Worker Certificate or Human Services Worker Certificate or Addictions Worker Certification.
• Two years recent, related experience working with individuals living with mental illness, and/or substance use problems/disorders, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
• Basic First Aid Certificate
• Non-violent crisis intervention training
• Valid B.C. Driver’s License (Class 5)
