Business Solutions Student (WORKSITE LOCATION IS FLEXIBLE)

Position Summary

Interior Health is hiring a Business Solutions Student to join the Business Solutions Team. The location of this position is flexible within the Interior Health regions (Okanagan, Thompson Cariboo Shuswap, Eat Kootenay and Kootenay Boundary).

This opportunity is available for approximately four months.

Salary Range:

Salary range for the position is $22.66 to $25.75. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

What will you work on?

The Interior Health Business Solutions department includes Digital Business Transformation, Collaboration Systems, Corporate Systems, Finance Systems, Intelligent Automation and Application Development and Integrations teams. The student will be part of the Business Solutions department and participate in team functions. The student will work closely with the Manager for the assigned area as well as internal stakeholders. The student will have the opportunity to support Business Solutions work across the solution delivery lifecycle, which may include project coordination, requirements gathering and documentation, process mapping and analysis, configuration, and support for deployment and change activities.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Participate and engage in project work. Duties may include project coordination, requirements gathering and documentation, process mapping and analysis, configuration, and support for deployment and change activities as directed by the Manager.

2. Create and/or update documentation in alignment with departmental standards.

3. Participates in team meetings.

Other related duties and responsibilities assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

Enrolled in a post-secondary degree or advanced diploma in computer science or business administration 3rd or 4th year preferred, or equivalent combination of education, qualification and skills.

Demonstrated experience in a complex computer & technical environment. Experience with Excel is required.

• Teamwork: Able to engage with peers to facilitate and participate in assigned projects and tasks.

• Communication: Concise and effective communication skills, both written and verbal. An ability to professionally engage with team members and stakeholders to execute assigned work.

• Initiative: Willingness to learn how theoretical knowledge applies in a practical work environment. Curious and open to learn.

• Accountability: Responsible for work product / outcomes within scope of duties and under supervision & direction of the assigned Manager.

• Technical: Demonstrated skills and competencies in relevant software programs such as Microsoft suite, project management software and/or equivalent.

• Physical: Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
