About the Job
The Registered Nurse:
• Practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care
• Works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs
• Demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities

The KGH Home IV team is responsible for supporting PICC, midline, and ultrasound guided PVAD insertions and troubleshooting at KGH. Additionally, the team works in close collaboration with the community team, pharmacy, and Infectious Diseases physicians to support the Home IV program by identifying appropriate patients for the program, completing eligibility assessments, providing patient education, and supporting ongoing troubleshooting for patients in the community.

This is a Relief Part Time (0.71) opportunity until February 13, 2028, or the return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days, rotating from 08:00 to 16:00, 12:00 to 20:00, 08:00 to 20:00 hours.

A first in Canada: minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPRs) are starting in B.C.! Interior Health, alongside B.C.'s other health authorities, is implementing mNPRs as a transformative staffing initiative that aims to improve the working environment of nurses in order to provide better quality care to our patients.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)

• Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned program area as required by the position:

Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) - a minimum of 600 hours of demonstrated IV therapy experience over the past two years, successful completion of an approved course on PICC/Midline catheter insertion plus one year's recent related general duty nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
