Support Services Student (WORKSITE LOCATION IS FLEXIBLE)

Position Summary

Interior Health (IH) is hiring a Support Services Student to join the Support Services, Indigenous Traditional Food Working group. The location of this position is flexible within the Interior Health region.

This position is for approximately six months.

Salary Range:

Salary range for the position is $22.66 to $25.75. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

What will you work on?

The Student position will provide assistance to the Support Services Senior leadership team by participating in the planning and coordination of the Indigenous Traditional Foods Working Group, which includes creating environmental scans for current state assessments, engage with community members to understand needs and potential menu planning.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists with project requirements.
2. Supports in the maintenance of related files and records.
3. Assists in the support communication and community engagement.
4. Prepares and organizes correspondence, performs data entry and clerical support functions and creates a variety of documents.
5. As required, participates in site visits with SS Leadership and assists with report reviews
6. Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

• Grade 12
• Enrollment in post-secondary program, preferably 2nd year student
• Prefer a student working towards a Degree in Business Administration, Culinary Arts or Indigenous Relations

Skills and Abilities:

 Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
 Ability to deal with others effectively.
 Ability to organize work.
 Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
 Ability to operate related equipment.
 Knowledge of Word\Excel required.
