Salary range for the position is $63,484 to $91,259 Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
How will you create an impact:
The Capital Accounting Advisor (CAA) is responsible for supporting Capital Accounting portfolio in all aspects of the day-to-day operations. This will include advising Capital Accounting staff on efficient and effective use of accounting and reporting systems related to fixed assets. The CAA provides advice on system improvements. The CAA utilizes computerized databases to research and provide reports to meet Ministry of Health requirements and to support organizational relationships with all funding partners. The CAA provides input into the development of policies and procedures and supports the capital request submission and acquisition processes. Key issues for the position will be a thorough knowledge of MIS reporting standards and IH policy/practices related to the full cycle of capital assets, a solid understanding of funding relationships, and the ability to document workflows and train staff.
What will you work on:
• Supports the Capital Accountants in the maintenance of documents shared with Business Operations and provincial bodies in management of funding allocations and asset replacement.
• Produces and performs first line analysis of strategic reports as required by the Capital Accountants and/or Manager.
• Provides administrative and data support to the Capital Accountants and/or Manager in project work.
• Assists the Capital Accountants and/or Manager in the development of training materials and policies.
• Supports the Capital Accountants and/or Manager with information for timely response to operational staff requests related to asset acquisition/disposals and funding partner support.
• Supports the relationships between Capital Accountants/Manager/Director and internal/external partners on strategic issues.
• Assists with coordinating the workload between Accounting Assistants and reviews work.
• Ensures completion of period close procedures.
• In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience
• Grade 12 and a diploma in business or a related field.
• Proficiency with MS Products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Proficiency with Meditech system.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a complex environment.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Skills and Abilities
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of management in IH and with outside partners.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment and software.
• Flexible and willing to support the team where deemed necessary by the Manager or Director.
