Power Engineer | Maintenance Worker

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Power Engineer 5 | Maintenance Worker V to join our dedicated team at Cottonwoods Care Centre in Kelowna, BC.

Your Role:

As a Power Engineer 5 | Maintenance Worker V, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our facility’s power plant and building systems. You’ll operate, monitor, and maintain low-pressure steam and heating systems, boilers, HVAC equipment, emergency power, and related plant infrastructure—ensuring all work is completed in compliance with applicable codes and regulations. From starting up and shutting down systems to performing preventative and demand maintenance, you’ll keep essential services running smoothly. In addition to your power engineering responsibilities, you’ll apply advanced trades skills across areas such as electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance, while providing supervision and guidance to Maintenance Workers and other designated staff. Your technical expertise and leadership will directly support safe, comfortable, and dependable facility operations.

Position Information:
This is a permanent full time position working Monday to Friday day shifts from 07:00 to 15:00. This position has a mandatory on-call rotation required with it.

Qualifications

• Grade 10, plus four years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Certificate of competency as a 5th Class Power Engineer with Boiler Endorsement recognized by the Province of British Columbia.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License required.
