Position Summary
Kelowna General Hospital is seeking to hire a permanent full‑time Clinical Practice Educator, located in Kelowna, B.C.
This position provides clinical education support to 5B (General Medicine, Respiratory, and Gastrointestinal services) and 6W (General Medicine, Stroke Services, and the Clinical Teaching Unit). The Clinical Practice Educator will play a key role in supporting staff development, enhancing clinical practice standards, and fostering an environment of continuous learning across these medicine units.
Shift Times: Days from 8:00 am to 16:00 pm.

What will you work on?
The Clinical Practice Educator incorporates the core concepts of person and family-centered care (respect, dignity, information sharing, participation, and collaboration) and provides visible, accessible clinical support by acting as an education resource for staff in the clinical area(s). Using nursing & specialized theory and knowledge, develops, implements, and evaluates a range of formal/ informal educational programs and learning plans for direct care nursing staff, including individual and group learning assessments and opportunities. Consults, confers, and collaborates with others in the promotion of a quality practice & learning environment, continuous quality improvement, resolution of clinical education issues, and coordination of activities required for progressive educational and clinical practice programs. Takes supportive action with respect to individual and group learning needs as required. Integrates the nursing designation (RN, RPN, LPN) and area specific competencies into professional practice and education.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Three years recent related nursing experience in the designated clinical area of focus/specialty, including two years formal experience in areas such as adult teaching and learning, clinical mentoring and preceptoring, clinical instruction, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid BC Driver’s License as required.
