Community Care Licensed Practical Nurse

Position Summary

Interior Health has an opportunity for a Casual Community Care Licensed Practical Nurse who is self-directed and comfortable working autonomously.

The hours are days and evening rotating from 09:00 to 20:10.

How will you make an impact?
As a Community Care Licensed Practical Nurse (CCLPN), you play a key role in delivering compassionate, client-centered care. You assess client needs, contribute to care planning, perform nursing procedures, and support independence in daily living. Working closely with an interdisciplinary team, you help improve health outcomes, ensure safety, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of clients and their families.

What will you work on
As a Community Care Licensed Practical Nurse (CCLPN), you will support integrated care planning by conducting client assessments, clinic visits, and follow-up for individuals including adults, seniors, and pediatrics living with multiple or chronic conditions. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and deliver both personal and nursing care, often working directly with a family physician or nurse practitioner. Your duties include performing clinical procedures, assisting with personal care, documenting care outcomes, mentoring staff, and promoting client independence and safety. You will practice in accordance with the standards set by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and follow all applicable organizational policies, procedures, and unit-specific protocols.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience
• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses and one (1) year of recent, related community, acute care or long-term care experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Current, full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

• Current valid BC Driver’s License.

• Demonstrated knowledge and skills within a specific clinical specialty or client population dependent on the nature of the caseload (e.g. community, acute care, gerontology, palliative, etc.).
