Position Summary
Joining us in the Kootenay Boundary region, you’ll play a key part in carrying out client/patient/resident (i.e. client) care treatment plans and programs to assist physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists in monitoring and evaluating clients’ progression.
This position is based in Arrow Lakes Hospital (ALH), situated in Nakusp, B.C. ALS is a level one community hospital serving a population of approximately 5,000 residents in the Kootenay Boundary health service area. In this role the rehabilitation assistant may be asked to cover the communities of New Denver and Nakusp and float withing Interior Health’s long-term care, acute care and community worksites. A valid BC driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle is required.
Days of work are Monday to Friday with schedule 08:00 to 16:00.
Operating within a client-centered approach and as an essential member of the rehabilitation team, a rehabilitation assistant make a substantial contribution to the impact on progression of patient/client needs and their rehabilitation journey. In this role, a rehabilitation assistant:
• Is empowered to operate at the top of their scope.
• Engages patients through consistent therapeutic interventions.
• Drives substantial progress in meeting patient needs and their rehab journey.
• Serves as an integral member of the rehabilitation team.
• Is relied upon as the eyes and ears of the rehab team, ensuring comprehensive care.

Qualifications
Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Valid Driver’s License is required.
