About the Job
The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse:
• Functions as a member of the larger Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) or Tertiary Mental Health Services multi-disciplinary care team
• Ensures that persons with serious severe and persistent mental health problems, and/or problematic substance use and/or development disability issues who may or may not be in crisis have access to timely, responsive, evidence based treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of available services
• Provides assessment, treatment, case management, community support, and as required, urgent response to clients who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life
• Functions as a primary clinician utilizing a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients and/or their families
The Complex Care Housing team includes Nurses, Life Skills Workers, Disciplines Allied to Social Work, Cultural Support, Recreation Therapists, Nurse Practitioners and Peer Support Workers. The Complex Care Housing team will be based at the Complex Care Housing site.
The successful candidate will need to have experience providing brief mental health and substance use assessments of clients in crisis, and work in a variety of settings such as office based, community based and in hospital. We are seeking candidates with flexibility, critical thinking skills and an ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team.
This is a Term Specific Full Time position until January 15, 2026.
Shifts of work are days and nights, with shift time of 07:30 to 19:30, 19:30 to 07:30 hours.

Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved school of nursing
• Two years’ recent related MHSU experience in the assigned clinical area(s) (such as Counselling & Treatment Services; Treatment, Support & Recovery Services; Crisis Response; Seniors MHSU Services; Substance Use; Developmental Disability Mental Health Services (DDMHS), etc.) or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Current valid B.C. driver’s license
