Salary range for the position is $74,618 to $107,264. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How will you create an impact:
Capital Budget Analyst is responsible for assisting in the planning, approval and monitoring of the Capital Budget for equipment, facilities, and Digital Health; coordinating effective reporting for internal customers and external funding partners; and evaluating and organizing requests for capital equipment, capital improvements, and facilities improvement projects. This position is responsible to manage the capital budget systems (software) by monitoring functionality, providing recommendations for improvements, and providing instructions to internal and external customers on the use of the applications. The individual will be highly proficient with databases and Microsoft Excel and demonstrate proficiency at collating and manipulating data to produce financial and other adhoc reports.

In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to your manager or supervisor immediately.

What will you work on:
1. Coordinates data submissions for the capital budget planning and reporting cycle and tracks relevant information required for the prioritization of requests.

2. Prepares information packages for capital budget prioritization cycle and ad hoc reports as required by internal customers and external funding partners.

3. Provides direction on capital budget processes and timelines, reviews budget submissions prepared by others, and adjusts capital budget information accordingly.

4. Evaluates capital requests critically for accuracy, provides insights and feedback, and monitors timelines to ensure completeness of capital budget.

5. Manages capital budget systems by monitoring functionality, providing recommendations for improvements, and providing instructions on the use of the application.

6. Reconciles data to ensure accuracy and completeness.

7. Organizes capital budget information and facilitates creation of funding request letters and formal reporting such as multi-year capital budgets for external funding partners.

8. Provides input on new and existing policies and processes and makes recommendations to the Director, Capital Budgets & Planning and users on issues that relate to both strategic and day-to-day operations of IH.

9. Organizes communication on the prioritization of budget items, pricing estimates, and supports correspondence with external partners.

10. Liaises with the Capital Accounting Team to ensure timely and accurately reflected financial reporting.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience
• A Bachelor’s degree and/or CPA, another relevant designation, or currently working towards completion.
• One to three years of experience relevant to the duties of this position.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Customer service orientation with the ability to be innovative and participate with others to reach organizational objectives.

• Ability to multi-task and perform numerous tasks for various clients within acceptable time frames.
• Excellent computer skills in order to access and manipulate data from various systems to produce financial and other reports.
• Strong analytical ability to meaningfully interpret and present data.
• Understanding of the full accounting and budgeting cycle.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
