Salary range for the position is $88,990 to $127,923. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How will you create an impact:
The Leader plans, coordinates, and monitors the development, implementation, and ongoing functioning of an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) System within Interior Health (IH). The Leader facilitates the development, implementation, and evaluation of the ERM System including the Corporate Risk Register. The Leader conducts ongoing environmental scanning both within IH and externally to identify new and trending enterprise wide risks and provide support and guidance in determining mitigation activities. They will be a positive change agent in a complex system with the ability to develop relationships with partners both internal and external to IH.

In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to your manager or supervisor immediately.

What will you work on:
• Leads the development and implementation of the ERM System within IH including the maintenance of a Corporate Risk Register.

• Consults with senior leaders to ensure the organization’s enterprise risk mitigation activities align with Health Authority priorities, objectives, and its risk appetite.

• Conducts environmental scanning, monitoring IH and industry data, to identify changes in the risk landscape and proactively engages partners with direction on enterprise risk identification, assessment, and response.

• Prepares reporting and work summaries for the Director, the Strategy and Risk Management Committee (SRMC), and other partners.

• Conducts post-implementation evaluations of enterprise risk mitigation activities with partners.

• Maintains current knowledge of best practices in ERM and proposes refinements to IH’s ERM function as appropriate.

• Leverages technology in ERM processes to maximize the efficient use of partner time and maintain a well-organized file storage system.

• Identifies and resolves arising issues through negotiation and conflict resolution with partners.

• Facilitates ongoing consultation with key partners to coordinate activities with other programs (eg. Health System Planning, Finance), identify unmet or emerging ERM needs and provides leadership and support in the development of strategies to meet these needs.
• Provides education and group facilitative services for teams/programs/departments wishing to conduct enterprise risk assessments and develop their risk registers.

• Performs other related duties as required within the CFO & Corporate Services portfolio, including acting on behalf of the Corporate Director when requested.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience
• A degree in healthcare or business ideally supplemented by education/experience in Enterprise Risk Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years healthcare, business strategy, and/or risk management experience, preferably with involvement in project planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Skills and Abilities
• Demonstrated experience presenting information verbally and in writing to executive leaders.
• Strong base of information technology (IT) knowledge with experience leveraging IT to maximize workflow efficiency.
• Experience coordinating projects in complex environments with a broad variety of partners.
• Knowledge of the healthcare industry.
• Proficiency with computer software relating to the Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, databases, and graphics.
• Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Superior writing and verbal communication abilities and independent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Superior organizational skills; demonstrated ability to organize complex and detailed files and working papers.
• Demonstrated skills in project management and change management methods. Demonstrated ability to identify variances and implement strategies that lead to desired outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
