About the Job
The role of the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures/examinations and related duties while working in collaboration with radiologists/cardiologists, physicians and other health care professionals. Echo experience is an asset for this position.
The majority of work is outpatient based, with approximately 25 percent on inpatients or emergency patients for Ultrasound/Echo. There is no on-call services for Sonography. SLH provides approximately 8,800 ultrasounds and 2,800 echo exams per year. The Sonographers provide General and Echo services, splitting their days with half of each. SLH is a great place to work with good flexibility and low inpatient/ER patient volumes.
This is a Relief Part Time (0.75) opportunity until the return of the incumbent.
Shifts of work will be scheduled rotating days and evenings.

Qualifications
Graduate of a recognized/accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography).
Current certification with Sonography Canada as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Generalist and/or Cardiac) and/or current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Abdomen/Small Parts, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Cardiac, and/or Vascular) or be certified with Sonography Canada and have passed the Sonography Canada Skills Assessment (CCSA).
Eligible for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS.
