About the Job
The Remote Practice Registered Nurse
• Practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and core competencies for Remote Certified nursing and code of ethics as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), as well as within a patient and family centered care model
• Is responsible for providing primary health care and emergency services to the identified community
This is a Permanent Part Time (0.40) opportunity.
Shifts of work will be scheduled days rotating from 08:30 to 16:30 hours.

The community, 20km/12.5mi west of Hanceville, is named after Chief Alexis of the Tsilhqot’in (sill-ko-teen), who was chief during the time of the Chilcotin War. Nearby are Bull Canyon and Battle Rock, the sites of fierce intertribal battles fought between the Chilcotin and invading Shuswap and Bella Coola tribes. Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Minimum two years broad base clinical experience in an outpost setting, a rural acute care setting, and/or
emergency; or an equivalent.
• Current CPR BLS required.
• BCCNM Remote, STI, and CM certified practice required.
• Completion of a rural nursing certification program required.
• Mental health first aid considered an asset.
• Canadian Nurses Association Emergency Certification considered an asset.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Pediatric Emergency
Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS), and/or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) considered an asset.
• Current valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
