Position Summary
We have a permanent part-time (0.51fte) Clinical Dietitian opening in Trail, B.C. This position supports two long-term care facilities. Shift times are 08:30-16:30. Days of work are Wednesdays at Poplar Ridge Pavillion. Thursdays and alternating Friday's at Columbia View Lodge. Restricted Activity A is considered an asset, or a willingness to work towards this with employer support.

About the position:
The Clinical Dietitian is a member of a multidisciplinary health care team and provides nutrition care and support to individuals, patients, residents and groups according to established policies, standards and procedures. Utilizing clinical techniques and knowledge, the Clinical Dietitian provides nutrition services through: nutrition assessment; care planning and charting; intervention, goal setting and monitoring; counseling and education programs; consults and communicates with the multidisciplinary care teams; acts as a resource to other health professionals and communities within Interior Health. The Clinical Dietitian provides input to the Professional Practice Leader by participating in the development of nutrition practice guidelines and procedures; research and continuous quality improvement initiatives for the facility and program. The Clinician Dietitian liaises and advises food service staff on patient/resident care issues and menu development.

About this location
Trail is nestled between the glorious Monashee and Selkirk mountains on the banks of the Columbia River, approximately 10 km north of the US border. The area is surrounded by nature and offers many family friendly amenities and a variety of retail, businesses and services.
Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics
Successful completion of an accredited hospital based dietetic internship program (or equivalent acceptable to the facility)
Full registration as a Registered Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)
Two year’s of clinical nutrition experience which includes one year working with Renal clients in a health care environment, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training suitable to the facility or program is required
Valid BC Driver’s License
