Salary Range:
Salary range for the position is $88,990 to $127,923. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
About the job:
In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Lead Digital Transformation Projects manages a team of Project Resources for the purpose of delivering and implementing corporate wide business systems. The Lead Digital Transformation Projects will work in conjunction with the Manager, Digital Business Transformation to ensure the delivery projects are in line with the overarching vision and management of the Digital Transformation department. The Lead Digital Transformation Projects is responsible to oversee project planning, execution, and monitoring within the portfolios project delivery standards. The position oversees assigned project resources, in collaboration with the Project Management Office develops project plans and ensures the delivery and acceptance of project end products for sign-off by the business areas.
In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to your manager or supervisor immediately.
Typical duties and responsibilities:
• Responsible for project staffing functions including daily assignments, recruitment, hiring, ongoing development, performance management, and performance evaluation including disciplinary action and termination as required.
• Collaborates with other Department Managers and Leadership team to determine the business and operational requirements and goals.
• In collaboration with the Project Management Office:
o oversees the development of essential project documents (charters, schedules, project plan, requirements, risk register, end product specifications, etc.).
o Prepares and manages project operational budgets.
o Develops and fosters relationships with key internal and external partners (e.g., IH leadership groups, other Health Authorities, provincial partners, and suppliers) to address issues related to the projects.
o Manages the process of change in all projects affected areas across IH.
• Develops, implements, and monitors standards for service and performance; evaluates and effects changes as needed to improve services, simplify workflow, and assure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Works with software vendors and other external service providers to negotiate contract terms and pricing and resolve complex and/or tentative service issues.
• Maintains and continually improves project management best practice and standards for IH.
• Acts in a consultative capacity to provide expert advice to other project resources.
• In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, maintain a healthy and safe work environment through complying with and implementing applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, responding to requests from WSBC, identifying hazards and communicating risks, ensuring compliance with employee training, conducting effective incident investigations and implementing required corrective actions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience
• A Masters’ degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or a related technical discipline or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of five to seven years of experience in the project management of complex, multi-site, multi-disciplined information systems, including responsibility for staff development and Professional Project Manager (PMP) designation or equivalent.
• Business Analysis Certification (such as IIBA), cloud or related technical certifications, and course work in a health-related area or experience working in the healthcare field are assets.
Skills and Abilities
• Solid customer, vendor, and consultant relationship management and performance management skills.
• Detailed understanding of the function, process, and integration of information technology in a healthcare environment.
• Understand/exposed to a variety of software development approaches and methodologies including Agile and Waterfall
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels of the organization and at a provincial level and possessing political awareness in the health care environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, manage, implement, and organize major projects and to problem solve.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highly dynamic, fast paced, continually changing environment.
• Ability to utilize research and experiential knowledge to question and create change and innovation.
• Proficiency in systems, software, and processes necessary for the position.
• Adhere to and support the development of policies, guidelines, procedures for information usage and dissemination.
