About the Job:
The Registered Nurse:
• Practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care
• Works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs
• Demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities
This is a relief part-time (0.75) opportunity until June 8, 20256, or the return of the incumbent.
Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights; rotating from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 hours.
About this location/unit:
Elk Valley Hospital is a 20-bed Level 1 Community Hospital located in Fernie, BC and offers services including inpatient, obstetrics, and emergency. One operating room suite performs surgical procedures, including gynecology/OBS, C-Section, D & C, excision of ganglion, vasectomies, surface cancer excision, hernia repair and upper and lower GI scoping. This position includes work duties in pre-surgical services, infusions, and surgical daycare areas. Hours of operation are weekdays Monday to Friday with on-call overnight with the aim of 24/7 on call to support C-Section and Trauma coverage.

Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
