Salary range for the position is $88,990 to $127,923. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How will you create an impact:
The Lead, Medical Staff Recruitment is responsible for supporting the execution of the strategic sourcing plans and overseeing Medical Staff Recruiters in their daily work. The Lead coordinates daily tasks and acts as a subject matter expert for the Medical Staff Recruitment team. The Lead is also responsible for recognizing current and future decision support, informing sourcing and recruitment strategies, and identifying opportunities for improvements in service efficiencies.
In consultation and collaboration with the Manager, Medical Staff Recruitment, administrative leaders, Chiefs of Staff, and Executive Medical Directors, the Lead, Medical Staff Recruitment is responsible for full cycle recruitment of Medical Staff, with a focus on the Medical Staff Resource Plan. A strong recruitment team works collaboratively with related internal and external strategic partners including Medical Affairs, Medical Leadership, the Divisions of Family Practice, the Ministry, and candidates to ensure a high level of partnership and strong candidate experience.
In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to your manager or supervisor immediately.
What will you work on:
• Prioritizes, monitors, and assigns the daily work to the Medical Staff Recruitment Team. Provides expert guidance and day-to-day oversight of Medical Staff Recruiters including hiring, training, coaching, and managing staff. Establishes clear performance goals and evaluates individual performance in accordance with IH policies.
• Provides critical analysis and evaluation of recruitment data, identifies recruitment trends, and makes data driven recommendations to improve efficiencies and results. Prepares reports as required.
• Represents the department and acts as a liaison with Medical Affairs (Contracts, Compensation, Medical Administration, Credentialling and Privileging), Human Resources, and other Health Authorities as appropriate.
• Monitors spending for assigned components of the recruitment budget. Makes recommendations regarding recruitment budget. Supports developing proposals for special assignments, projects, and other departmental needs.
• Supports the development of processes and helps implement automation of recruitment systems to increase efficiencies. Manages technology updates to recruitment and related systems. Pursues advancement in systems to improve operational efficiencies. This includes outlining business requirements, advocating for change, testing, development of standard work and supporting overall change management.
• Coordinates and/or attends career marketing events or engages alternative media to ensure IH is well positioned to attract talent. Assists in the development of an annual plan for attendance at Medical Staff recruitment conferences in collaboration with the recruitment department, Executive Medical Directors, the Executive Director, Health Match BC, and other key partners. Aligns conferences with the organization’s identified high priority vacancies and budgetary allocations.
• Applies full cycle recruitment practices to ensure IH medical staff recruitment needs are being met. Works collaboratively with the Manager, Chiefs of Staff, Department Heads, Executive Medical Directors, and IH Administrators and Managers to proactively identify and fulfill medical staff recruitment needs.
• Assists in the development of recruitment and sourcing strategies for maximum exposure and cost-effectiveness to target qualified candidates.
• Liaises and builds relationships with educational institutions to attract residents, physicians, and nurse practitioners.
• Develops strong relationships with community partners, such as the Divisions of Family Practice, Health Match BC, and Doctors of BC.
• Provides expert guidance on best practice when filling a medical staff vacancy.
• Fiscally responsible for all areas of medical staff recruitment including advertising, recruitment claims, and department travel expenses, and ensures reimbursements for eligible rural recruitment costs are submitted to the Ministry.
• Creates and maintains a pipeline of qualified medical staff candidates.
• Prescreens and short-lists candidates as per specifications.
• Supports the organization of candidate interviews, reference checks, and recruitment visits.
• Identifies and participates in developing, evaluating, and making continuous improvement to recruitment practices and services.
• Understands, applies, and effectively communicates relevant policies and procedures (such as relocation and site visits) to Medical Staff. Revises policies as required.
• Identifies real or potential issues based on political and organizational sensitivity to Medical Staff issues and brings to the attention of the Manager.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience
• A relevant Bachelor’s degree.
• Five to seven years of recent, related experience; recruiting in a complex environment focused on high profile positions.
• Advanced knowledge and creative ability in recruitment marketing and sourcing techniques for hard-to-fill positions.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities
• Sound knowledge of medical staff recruitment activities and best practice within IH and throughout the province.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with senior leaders.
• Knowledge of the Medical Staff Resource Plan and applicable policies and procedures an asset.
• Possess a strategic partner approach and the ability to develop effective relationships with Medical leadership, IH administrators and managers, and external partners.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication. Ability to establish rapport with individuals of all educational and occupational backgrounds.
• Demonstrable professionalism, confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
• Utilize problem-solving and root-cause analytical skills.
• Ability to drive results in a positive and professional manner in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and any applicant tracking system.
• Sales background an asset.
• Previous management experience.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
