Your Role:
As a Recreation Therapist, you will deliver engaging recreation and leisure programs both one-on-one and in group settings. Your responsibilities include assessing clients' needs, developing and coordinating therapeutic recreation plans, and evaluating outcomes to enhance clients' health, functional status, personal development, and quality of life. You will perform detailed assessments, document behavioral and functional observations, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized plans. Monitoring clients' progress and adjusting goals will be key to ensuring all objectives are met.
In addition, you will work with Occupational/Rehabilitation staff and other agencies, contribute to the organization and delivery of Recreation Therapy services, and participate in quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education. You will also provide input on developing guidelines and procedures, support continuous quality improvement initiatives, and handle administrative duties to ensure smooth operations. Your role will be crucial in enhancing the overall well-being of our clients.
Casual Employment Opportunities:
Enjoy the flexibility of casual employment, with shifts ranging from zero to 37.5 hours per week. Day and evening shifts are available, accommodating varying schedules. Qualifications
• Graduation from a recognized diploma or degree program in Recreational Therapy plus two years recent related experience.
• Eligible for professional membership with the B.C. Therapeutic Recreation Association (BCTRA).
• Current valid BC driver’s license
