New graduate Respiratory Therapist (RTs) are employed in diverse practice environments and have opportunity to work across the health care continuum, including hospital-based medical, surgical, emergency, pulmonary function, and diagnostics units; and community programs. All new graduate RTs will be provided the opportunity to identify their preferences for a position during the recruitment process. Whatever your interest, we have something for you!

IH’s Allied Health Transition to Practice Mentorship Program is designed to support and guide new entrant Respiratory Therapists as they embark on their careers with us. It is our commitment to fostering growth, skill development, and excellence in Allied Health practices. New Entrants are provided opportunity to build knowledge, confidence and competence as they transition into careers within IH..

Qualifications
Graduation of a Canadian program from an approved School of Respiratory Therapy. Successful completion of the Health Professionals Testing Canada (HPTC) Credentialing Exam. Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT). Current valid BC Driver’s License.
Have less than 18 months' worth of employment experience. Have not participated in a new graduate or transition to practice program with another B.C. Health Authority.
