We are seeking a reliable and motivated Medical Lab Assistant to join our cohesive Lab team within the Queen Victoria Hospital in the friendly community of Revelstoke, B.C. Days of work are Monday to Friday and shift times are days and evenings: 08:00 to 16:00, 08:30 to 16:30

What will you work on:
The Medical Lab Assistant performs a variety of duties within the hospital, such as taking blood samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens within the Lab and outside Laboratories, operating related equipment, entering data into the Lab Information System (LIS) and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.

The Queen Victoria Hospital is a Level 1 Community Hospital in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area. Located in Revelstoke, between Salmon Arm and Golden, the hospital offers services including acute care, laboratory, obstetrics, and emergency.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience
• Grade 12
• Successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program
• One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Valid BC Driver’s License
• Ability to type 25 WPM *please upload a copy of an invigilated typing test dated within the last 48mths. Please note we do not accept self-administered online tests*
