Permanent part-time Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) opportunity available now at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBH) in Trail, B.C. Days of work are rotating and shift times are days and evenings between the hours of 06:30 and 22:45.

What will you work on:
MLAs perform a variety of duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside Labs, operating related equipment, entering data into the LIS and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.
About this location:
KBRH is a 75-bed acute care site in the Kootenay Boundary health service area and is responsible for providing core medical and surgical specialty services. Located in Trail, between Grand Forks and Nelson, KBRH offers services including core physician specialties, 24-hour emergency and trauma services, Level 2 laboratory, acute and obstetrical care, psychiatry, and chemotherapy.
Trail is nestled between the glorious Monashee and Selkirk mountains on the banks of the Columbia River, approximately 10 km north of the US border. The area is surrounded by nature and offers many family-friendly amenities and a variety of retail, businesses and services.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience
• Grade 12
• Successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program
• One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Valid BC Driver’s License
• Ability to type 25 WPM *Please upload a copy of an invigilated typing test dated within the last 48 months. Please note we do not accept self-administered online tests*
