About Us:
Overlander Extended Care is actively seeking a passionate and dedicated Recreation Therapy Practice Leader to join our warm and welcoming team in Kamloops, BC.
This is a casual opportunity with possible day shifts from 07:00 to 15:00.
Your Role:
As the Recreation Therapy Practice Leader, you will be at the forefront of shaping and advancing our therapeutic recreation program. Collaborating closely with the Manager, you will oversee the program's direction, coordination, and evaluation, ensuring it aligns with organizational and departmental goals.
In this role, you’ll provide expert clinical guidance to staff and students, fostering a culture of continuous learning and best practices. Your leadership will extend to strategic initiatives such as budget planning, workload management, and strategic/tactical planning. You'll play a key role in supporting client safety, project management, and change initiatives while addressing labor relations and human resources management.
By working with key stakeholders, you’ll interpret and implement organizational policies and procedures to enhance program effectiveness and meet the needs of our clients.

Qualifications
• Graduate of a recognized diploma or degree program in Recreational Therapy plus five (5) years recent related experience including supervisory experience in a Residential Care setting or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Eligible for professional membership with the B.C. Therapeutic Recreation Association (BCTRA).
• Current valid BC driver’s license
