Position Summary
Interior Health is seeking a casual Recreation Therapist to join our team at Polson Place in Vernon, BC.
As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in enhancing clients' health, functional abilities, and overall quality of life through carefully designed therapeutic recreation programs.
In this dynamic position, you will:
• Assess clients' recreation and leisure needs and develop individualized therapeutic plans that promote personal growth and well-being.
• Lead engaging one-on-one and group activities that support clients in achieving their goals.
• Monitor progress, celebrate achievements, and adapt plans to ensure success.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Occupational and Rehabilitation staff, as well as external organizations, to provide a seamless and supportive client experience.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and education to continuously elevate the Recreation Therapy program.
• Contribute your expertise to the development of guidelines and procedures while managing key administrative duties.
This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements may vary from zero to 37.5 hours per week. Days of work are rotating, and shift times as 08:30 – 16:12.

Qualifications
• Graduation from a recognized diploma or degree program in Recreational Therapy plus two years recent related experience
• Eligible for professional membership with the B.C. Therapeutic Recreation Association (BCTRA).
• Current valid BC driver’s license.
