IH Internal Audit Student

Position Summary

Interior Health (IH) is hiring an Internal Audit Student for the IH Internal Audit department. This position is based out of the Kelowna Health Services Centre. This position is for approximately four months.

What will you work on?

This position will assist with operational reviews and audits (i.e. review of purchasing controls, accounts receivable controls, employee expenses) and other projects included in the Annual Internal Audit Plan.
A variety of experiences will be offered working with a number of departments and current health care issues.

Some Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Identify opportunities and shape creative solutions to risks and business problems

2. Utilize interpersonal skills and a continuous learning and fun attitude, to collect and critically analyze information

3. Work independently and productively

4. Perform other related duties as assigned

About the IH Internal Audit department

The mission of the Internal Audit department is to provide independent, objective services designed to add value and improve Interior Health’s operations. We help Interior Health accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

Internal Audit is an attractive and rapidly expanding professional area. Our international professional body, the Institute of Internal Auditors, has over 170,000 members. Most internal auditors have an accounting/auditing designation (CPA) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation after completing a post-secondary degree. Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

• Current undergraduate student in a program, with completion of at least one year of university education.

• Key skills include data analysis, interviewing, project management, and report writing.

• Experience with Office 365 suite is a must, graphics design would be considered an asset.

• Accounting and audit experience would be additional assets.

**Successful applicant must have a valid class five BC driver’s license.

Comments

Salary range for the position is $22.66 to $25.75 p/h and starting salary will be based on education, training and experience.
