Combined Lab X-ray Technologist

Position Summary

The South Okanagan General Hospital (SOGH) in Oliver, B.C. is urgently seeking a reliable and flexible Combined Laboratory X-Ray Technologist (CLXT) to join their welcoming team. This is a relief part time opportunity. Days of work are rotating and shift times are days and evenings. Participation in out of hours and overnight may be required.

As the Combined Lab X-ray Technologist, you will interact with health centre clients and health care professionals to perform, monitor and record a variety of routine laboratory, x-ray and ECG procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards. The CLXT carries out routine and preventative maintenance of cardiac, laboratory and radiological equipment and trouble shoots related problems as required.

SOGH is an active, rural hospital serving the communities of Oliver, Osoyoos, and surrounding areas that sees an average of 16,000 emergency visits per year. There are 7 Emergency beds and 18 acute care beds which regularly operate at 100% capacity. This busy hospital is co-located with an 80 bed long-term care facility and also offers outpatient Lab services.

Qualifications

Graduation from an approved Combined Laboratory X-Ray Technician program. Eligible for registration with a provincial licensing body. One year of general experience in both laboratory and diagnostic imaging fields or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
