Embark on a fulfilling career journey with us at Pleasant Valley Manor in Armstrong, BC. We are excited to welcome a new team member to our Recreation Therapy Department, where you'll play a vital role in enriching the lives of our residents through engaging and therapeutic recreation programs.
Your Role:
As a Recreation Therapy Worker and Bus Driver, you will be an essential member of our interdisciplinary team, dedicated to implementing our established Recreation Therapy Program. You will lead a variety of leisure and recreational activities, including arts, socio-cultural events, crafts, sports, music, cooking, gardening, and exercises, tailored to meet the unique needs and interests of our residents. Your responsibilities will include setting up and organizing furnishings and equipment for programs and special events, teaching activity techniques, and overseeing resident participation. You will ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants, reporting any issues or changes to the supervisor.
In addition to on-site activities, you will accompany residents on outings, ensuring they have the appropriate clothing and necessary funds, and coordinating details with nursing staff and supervisors. Your role will involve leading individual sessions, group activities, and large special events, adapting programs to meet the physical, social, cognitive, spiritual, and emotional needs of the residents. You will also maintain accurate attendance records and provide input for care conferencing reports and program evaluations.

Position Information:
This is a permanent full time position working Tuesday to Saturday day shifts from 08:30 to 16:30.

Qualifications
• Grade 12, completion of a recognized recreation course(s) plus two year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Valid class 4 vehicle license required
