Position Summary

Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, BC is seeking applications from Diagnostic Medical Sonographers to join their Medical Imaging team.

This is a Relief Part Time (0.65 FTE) opportunity where the Sonographer will work rotating days and evenings with the shift types being 07:00 to 15:00, 07:30 to 15:30, 08:00 to 16:00, 11:00 to 19:00, 14:00 to 22:00.

What Will You Work On?
Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBH) performs a wide variety of exams including abdominal, pelvic, obstetrical, vascular, small parts, echo, and some interventional work (drainages and biopsies). We perform exams in outpatient and inpatient care (including ER and ICU). KBH’s Medical Imaging Department operates 7 days per week with rotating shift times. It consists of three scanning rooms (two general, vascular and small parts; one echo). The department averages 6,500 exams per year and 1,700 echo exams per year.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized/accredited North American Program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography).
• Current certification with Sonography Canada as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Generalist and/or Cardiac) and/or current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Abdomen/Small Parts, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Cardiac, and/or Vascular).
• Eligible for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS
