Interior Health is looking for a permanent full time Community Health Facilitator to join the team at the Community Health & Services Centre in Kelowna, B.C.
This position has a flexible work location within the Central Okanagan region in beautiful British Columbia.

We are seeking candidates with at least two years of community development and program evaluation experience. The successful candidate must be a big picture thinker with a background in community development, who can analyze and figure out what is possible on the ground level. What will you work on?
The Community Health Facilitator works with partners external to IH and in partnership within and across organizational portfolios. The Community Health Facilitator supports local governments and other community partners to integrate health promotion and disease prevention evidence/best practice into relevant processes, policies and practices in order to influence determinants of health within the social, natural and built environments.
The Community Health Facilitator applies evidence-based engagement approaches to build strong, trusting and collaborative relationships that enable baseline community assessments, multi-partner and transdisciplinary participation and alignment with relevant information and resources. This includes provision and interpretation of health information including health status, behaviors, attitudes, trends, and emerging issues related to community and population health.
Scheduling Information:
Days of work are scheduled during Monday to Friday. Shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours.

Qualifications
Education, Training & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in public health, health and social sciences, education or leadership with content in health promotion, community development, population health and/or community capacity building or related field.
Minimum of two years recent relevant experience (including experience with program evaluation), with a focus on facilitating integrated approaches to community health and well-being.
Current valid B.C. Driver’s License.
**Travel in assigned geographic region is required.
