Salary range for the position is $74,618 to $107,264. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How will you create an impact:
The Business Analyst, Financial Reporting builds reports and creates models and analyses to support the day-to-day operations and decisions of Interior Health (IH). The Business Analyst is responsible for ensuring a strong integration of data inputs, processes and policy with financial information and reporting; coordinating an effective forecasting mechanism to assist Senior Executives’ ability to adjust and commit resources toward organizational priorities; and compiling cost analysis and aligning budgeted resources.

In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to your manager or supervisor immediately.

What will you work on:
• Generates financial and statistical information for analysis and distribution.

• Performs quantitative, qualitative, and exploratory data analyses to enhance understanding of operational budget variances, trends, and pressures.

• Interprets and translates analysis into clear, easily understood findings and insights.

• Reconciles data to ensure accuracy.

• Builds, modifies, and creates recurring and ad hoc reports using disparate data sources and large volumes of detailed data.

• Prepares Financial Summaries for period end reporting cycles.

• Coordinates an effective forecasting mechanism to assist leadership’s ability to adjust and commit resources toward organizational priorities.

• Compiles cost analysis and receives budget plans for allocating and aligning planned resources.

• Navigates and guides internal clientele through financial policy, procedures, and processes.

• Coordinates capital planning documents and prepares capital monitoring reports.

• Proactively identifies process improvements.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience
• A Bachelor’s degree and/or a CPA, other relevant designation, or currently working towards completion.
• One to three years of experience relevant to the duties of this position.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills and Abilities
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to be flexible on work times and assignments.
• Customer service orientation with the ability to be innovative and participate with others to reach organizational objectives.
• Experience working in an organization of similar size and complexity in a role that required awareness of the structure and how to navigate through it to ensure internal clients are provided efficient and effective service.
• Ability to participate on a multi-disciplinary team and ensure deadlines and milestones are met.
• Ability to adapt and produce high quality results in a constantly changing and developing environment.
• Ability to multi-task and perform numerous tasks for various clients within acceptable time frames,
• Excellent computer skills in order to access and manipulate data from various systems to produce financial and other reports.
• Strong analytical ability to meaningfully interpret and present data.
• Understanding of the full accounting and budgeting cycle.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
