Position Summary
Are you a skilled Maintenance Worker seeking a casual opportunity in the serene town of Kaslo, BC? We're hiring a Maintenance Worker V to join our team at the Victorian Community Health Centre.
Your role:
As a Maintenance Worker V, you'll be handling trades duties approaching the journeyman level in various areas such as electrical, plumbing, and painting—all in strict compliance with applicable codes and regulations. Take charge by supervising Maintenance Workers and designated staff.
Tasks include constructing walls, doors, floors, ceilings, and windows with precision framing and applying materials like drywall, wood paneling, and floor coverings. Put your creative touch to work by designing, constructing, and repairing furniture, cabinets, desks, tables, and shelves. Dive into plastering, painting, and decorating, selecting, and applying a variety of finishes for both minor renovations and general maintenance.
Position details:
Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. This casual position offers flexibility and opportunity to transition internally to relief and permanent positions as positions arise. Casual employment includes short-notice, on-call availability, workload coverage during temporary absences, and providing relief coverage. Enjoy 13% of straight time pay in lieu of scheduled vacation and statutory holidays. After 180 hours, explore the option to purchase medical, dental, and extended health benefit plans.

Qualifications
• Grade 10, plus four years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License required.
