Kelowna General Hospital, located in Kelowna, BC has an exciting opportunity for a Casual ACU/GI/Neurodiagnostic Logistics/Purchasing Liaison Clerk to join their team in!
This position works Sunday to Thursday days 06:00 to 14:00.
Days Off: Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, STAT
This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary from 0 - 37.5 hours per week.

What will you work on?
In accordance with the vision and values of the organization the ACU/GI/Neurodiagnostic Logistics/Purchasing Liaison acts as primary liaison between Patient Care Coordinators and Professional Practice Leads (Ambulatory Care, GI and Neurodiagnostics) and Interior Health Material Services/Logistics and Purchasing departments as well as Biomed, Pharmacy, and Plant Engineering in the research, ordering, procurement, and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
Who are we looking for?
Meets with department staff (specifically Clinical Educator-Coordinator’s/Professional Practice Leads etc) to identify supply requirements as needed. Places requisitions and/or orders with suppliers/vendors for following as required:
- GI surgical supplies
- Ambulatory Care orders
- Neurodiagnostic equipment’s and consumable supplies
- Loaner instrumentation/equipment
- Trial and evaluation supplies/equipment
- Specialty specific supplies/instrumentation/equipment/allografts, etc.
- Biomed/Plant requisitions
- Scope/power equipment repair requisitions
- Patient specific supplies
• Requisitions loaner instruments and prostheses for surgery from vendors and the Purchasing Department. Consults with surgeons, PCC and vendors to determine equipment needs. Completes an inventory of received items, invoices consumables used for surgery and clinical requirements, and returns loaners to vendor.
• Liaises with O.R./Materials Management/Purchasing and Sales representatives to arrange for product samples and/or trial and evaluation of supplies and/or equipment. Collects evaluation documentation and provides summary to the areas, Clinical Educator-Coordinator’s, Professional Practice Leads and Managers in order to recommend changes to the current product or addition of a new product to the Inventory system.
• Provides cost analysis/differentiation of related/comparable products to the area’s Nurse coordinator/manager as appropriate or requested.
• In conjunction with materials management personnel, monitors shipping dates and resolves shipping problems and expedites late deliveries of equipment by follow up with suppliers and the Purchasing department if goods do not arrive on time. If unable to get goods in time for specified date, is responsible for alerting the Booking office and Inventory Nurse of the issue.
• Maintains supply catalogue files/reference library.
• Researches specialty products/supplies and/or equipment for Staff using available resources such as Material Services Management/E-Rex ordering systems, vendor catalogue library, web-based sites, vendor representatives, etc.
• Liaises and assists unit leads, Materials Management and Purchasing staff in the investigation of outstanding backorders, estimated time of arrival dates, returns of damaged goods, etc. Maintains adequate equipment inventories in conjunction with the appropriate personnel.
• Provides information to all user departments as requested.
• Maintains any checklists/spreadsheets as required.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
Grade 12 supplemented by accounting courses plus three years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
