Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) has an immediate relief full-time Occupational Therapist opening. This position is to provide coverage until the return of incumbent. This position works rotating day shifts including every other Sunday.

About the position:
This position is an acute care line, with emphasis on discharge planning, pressure injury prevention, cognition assessment and equipment needs.
An Occupational Therapist plays a crucial part in providing assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education to patients and/or their caregivers. Operating within a client-centered approach and as an essential member of our interdisciplinary team, you make a substantial contribution to promote functional independence and enable patients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes. You will provide work direction to the Rehabilitation Assistants working with the rehabilitation team in regard to transfer of function.

KGH is a tertiary referral hospital and offers high-level, specialty medical care including 24 hour emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic/paramedical services. Specialty services include adult and adolescent psychiatry, outpatient nutrition, patient care quality officers, and cardiac surgery.

Qualifications
• Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professions of British Columbia (CHCPBC).
• Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists
• Valid Driver’s license
