Public Health Dietitian

Position Summary

Kamloops Public Health has a relief, part time (0.60 FTE) Public Health Dietitian opening. Days of work are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; 08:30 to 16:30 hours.

About the location | Public Health Centres are responsible for delivering core programs for public health that broadly cover the areas of health improvement, prevention of disease, disability and injury, health emergency management, and environmental health.

About the Job | This position will provide coverage until February 2026, or the return of incumbent. The Public Health Dietitian uses a population health approach to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate programs, projects and policies which promote healthy eating, food security and food sovereignty among populations. The Public Health Dietitian applies a health equity and social determinants of health lens to improve healthy eating and food security and ensures services are provided in an evidence-informed, inclusive and culturally safe manner. Many relief positions will lead to permanent employment.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. with a Major in Dietetics.
• Registrant with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.
• Two years’ recent experience in population health or public health nutrition, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
