Your Role:
As a Recreation Therapy Worker, you will be an integral part of our interdisciplinary team, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our residents. In alignment with our organization's vision and values and working within a client-centered model, you will implement our established Recreation Therapy Program. Your responsibilities will include leading individual and group leisure/recreation activities such as arts, socio-cultural events, crafts, sports, music, cooking, gardening, and exercises.
You will set up and organize furnishings and equipment for programs and special events, assist residents to and from activities, teach them various techniques, and oversee their participation while reporting any issues to your supervisor. Additionally, you will accompany residents on external outings, ensuring they have the appropriate clothing and necessary funds, and coordinating details with nursing staff and therapists. Your role is vital in creating a vibrant and engaging environment that supports our residents' physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual well-being.

Qualifications
• Grade 12
• Completion of a recognized recreation course(s) plus two year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
