Cariboo Community Health Services (WLC), located in Williams Lake, B.C., has an immediate relief full time Occupational Therapist opening. This position is to provide coverage until December 2024, or the return of incumbent.

Cariboo Community Health Services is a vital healthcare hub serving the city and surrounding Cariboo-Chilcotin region. Community Health Centres do not have acute care beds yet may provide basic laboratory and radiology; urgent care; outpatient ambulatory care; community services; long term residential care services; and/or on-site doctors’ offices.
The Occupational Therapist plays a key role both independently and as a vital member of a multidisciplinary team. This position delivers comprehensive occupational therapy services, including assessments, treatment planning, program development, consultations, equipment recommendations, and client education. By focusing on enhancing functional independence, the Occupational Therapist helps clients achieve and sustain their best possible health outcomes in the home health/community setting. In addition to direct patient care responsibilities, the Occupational Therapist contributes to the organization’s goals and the advancement of the profession. They actively participate in quality assurance initiatives, departmental meetings, research, and educational activities, and they provide mentorship and guidance to rehabilitation assistants within the team.
Days of work are Monday to Friday: 08:00 to 16:00 hours.

Qualifications
• Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program
• Full practicing registration as an Occupational Therapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
• Practice specific requirements and experience in programs applicable to practice area.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
