Position Summary
We are seeking reliable and motivated Medical Lab Assistants to join our cohesive Lab team within the community of Creston, B.C. MLAs work Monday to Friday day shifts 06:30-14:30, 07:30-15:30 and 08:00-16:00.
This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions. What you will work on:
MLAs perform a variety of duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside Labs, operating related equipment, entering data into the LIS and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.

About this location:
The Creston Valley Hospital & Health Centre is a Level 1 Community Hospital in the East Kootenay health service area. Located in Creston, south east B.C. between Osoyoos and Cranbrook, the hospital offers services including surgical, inpatient and emergency.
Qualifications
• Grade 12
• Successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program
• One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Valid BC Driver’s License
• Ability to type 25 WPM *Please upload a copy of an invigilated typing test dated within the last 24mths. Please note we do not accept self-administered online tests*
