Position Summary

The Penticton Regional Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Casual Medical Transcriptionist to join their team in Penticton B.C! This casual Medical Transcriptionist position is for on-site work only.

When scheduled, this position works Days, Monday to Friday - 07:00 to 15:00, 07:30 to 15:30

Days off: Sun,Sat,STAT

This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary from 0 - 37.5 hours per week. Many careers with us begin with casual employment and lead to permanent or temporary career opportunities.

What you will work on:
The medical transcriptions of surgical, pathology, cytology, autopsy and bone marrow reports, distributes documents, and maintains the quality and integrity of health records.

What should your application include?
-Certificate in Medical Transcription from an approved institution
-Valid 5 minute Typing test of 60 wpm taken within 48 months from an approved institution (non- supervised tests are not accepted)
-Your Resume
-A Cover letter stating your availability to start in a new position

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:
Grade 12, graduation from an approved program in medical transcription and one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:
 Ability to keyboard at 60 wpm
 Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
 Ability to deal with others effectively.
 Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
 Ability to organize work.
 Ability to operate related equipment.
